My oldest daughter is a behavioral specialist and works in a public school with children in need of more individual attention. She told me about a cool little exercise that she did with her student to help him with his hand coordination. In my tutoring center, I sometimes see very bright children who have a bit of a delay factor when it comes to their hand coordination.
NO WORRIES! Get a one whole punch and a paper plate. Have your child punch holes all around the outside of the plate. Good exercise, right? Now, get some yarn or ribbon and have him or her use the yarn and go through the holes that they made. Fun right? This is amazing for helping to strengthen the hands so that coordination increases! It can be used for holidays, birthdays or whatever! Imagine one for Christmas. Use maybe red and green yarn for around the outside and draw a picture in the middle or write a happy note to a loved relative. No one needs to focus on the fact that it is a useful exercise, right?
Well, just a quick tip for today! Go out there and have some fun! I am always happy to receive comments or requests.
